This is a project that demonstrates an early build of a 2D top-down CQB shooter game. Its focus is on the playable character, from mechanics to modeling and animation. Below is a video demonstration and a breakdown of the steps involved in creating it (Modeling, Animation, Gameplay).
Creating Assets with (Aseprite)
I use Aseprite Aseprite for my pixelated project, because its a software made for this perpuse and it has a big gama of tools. I start by making the characters and in this case the body parts, because i'm gonna use a bone based animation.
Making Animation with (Synfig)
Because i want to give the characters a realistic human movement and hire frames, i choose to use Bone animation. For this reason i use Synfig a free tool for rigging and animate.
Giving life to the Game with (GameMaker)
Lastly, I use GameMaker Engine to create my prototype because it specializes in 2D pixelated games, has an easy-to-learn workspace, and its own coding language. It’s a good engine to start your game development journey.
